Prolapse

Description

Your Pelvic floor is part of your core stability muscles and one of it's jobs is to help keep your body's organs inside.

When a weakness develops in the core muscles it is harder for the pelvic floor muscle to keep the internal organs in their correct place and they start to drop down.

A Prolapse is when either your bladder, bowel or uterus is no longer held in the correct position and they fall down onto your vaginal wall.

This is often felt as a bulge or lump and can be described as the same feeling as a tampon coming out.
It can be painful or uncomfortable and can sometimes be an obstruction to having intercourse. Prolapses can also cause incontinence or the feeling of not emptying your bladder fully.

At Physiotherapy Ltd, after a thorough examination, we will be able to identify the cause of your symptoms. We will then be able to provide you with a bespoke treatment plan. We can also offer the insertion or change of your ring pessary if needed and, in conjunction with Body Reflexion's who offer Holistic Core Restore (R) course, help you get your fitness back (without those little accidents) if you want to.
